Commited scientist in environmental pollutants & ecotoxicology

Specialized in the plastic pollution and in the fishing sector

About my research

My research focuses on understanding how pollutants affect aquatic organisms and ecosystems, combining ecotoxicology and marine environmental sciences. I study the mechanisms of toxicity, bioaccumulation, and the multi-biological level responses of marine species to contaminants.
Beyond assessing impacts, I aim to connect scientific knowledge with environmental governance and management strategies. By linking experimental research with monitoring and policy frameworks, my work contributes to actions that reduce anthropic pollution pressures on aquatic environments.

My values

Integrity

"There are no rules, only the principles of integrity and objectivity, with a complete rejection of all authority except that of fact" - Joel H. Hildebrand.

Allowing time for research

"This business of ‘publish or perish’ has been a catastrophe. People write things which should never have been written and which should never be printed. Nobody’s interested. But for them to keep their jobs and get the proper promotion, they’ve got to do it. It demeans the whole of intellectual life" - Hannah Arendt

From science to Managment

The tools and results of scientific research must be used to effectively mitigate anthropogenic pollution.

From science to policy

In a context where misinformation and vested interests prevail, it is crucial that scientific evidence reaches policymakers, enabling decisions guided by established scientific consensus and promoting a more just and equitable society.
